Hello Copenhagen

Nyhavn harbour

It was very hard to leave Paris after four amazing months, but it made it easier knowing that we had 2 1/2 weeks of touring through Scandinavia before going back to Canada. Our first stop was Copenhagen, and I absolutely fell in love with it! I think it is my new mission in life to move to Denmark!

Copenhagen seems like the perfect city for me - room temperature is about 28 C and all outdoor patios come with blankets draped over the back of chairs (I'm always cold), strawberry and rhubarb jam can be found at the grocery store (my Mom would always make this for us growing up), and the pickled herring is delicious - and readily available in so many varieties (the Norwegian in me loves it!). To top it off, Copenhagen is an awesome city with beautiful parks and architecture, great food, and shopping (there are a few design stores and department stores that you can get lost in for hours), and it is easy to get around on foot, or as the locals do it, on bikes. I'm loving my future home!

Goodbye Paris

Eiffel Tower

After four wonderful months in Paris it is time to say good bye. I'll never forget the time that we spent here. On top of all of our amazing trips to Normandy and Brittany, the Loire, London, Tuscany, Bordeaux, and San Sebastian, we really enjoyed just relaxing and exploring the city. I am going to miss picnics at the Champs de Mars and the Jardin de Reuilly, super-reclining at Jardin de Luxembourg and the gardens at the Rodin Museum, walking for hours through quaint neighbourhoods, and taking in all the stunning architecture and monuments. I love Paris and a little bit of my heart will always remain.
