Is that you, spring?

View of Montreal from Mount Royal

It's been a long and hard winter in Montreal, and so far this spring hasn't been much better. But, maybe spring is finally here at last?

One of our favourite things to do in Montreal is walk and explore neighbourhoods. On Saturday, even though the weather was still a wee bit chilly, we went for an epic walk. We wandered from our house in Plateau down to the Old Port, along the canal and onto the southwest and Saint-Henri. Though a bit windswept, it's always fun to walk along the water here. We don't know Saint-Henri well, but its a funky little neighbourhood to explore, home to some of our favourite places, including the Atwater Market and the Satay Brothers. Part of the reason for our trek to Saint-Henri was to try out Rustique Pie Kitchen, which did not disappoint and will be added to our favourites list! We continued our walk to Carrefour Angrignon, not for the view, but out of necessity. I needed to buy a new French press to replace the one I broke, and Jesse was in search of some Washi tape for a project at his work. After 22km and a lot of wind, we were exhausted and took the Metro home.

You think we would be tired out from the day before, but the weather was actually beautiful and spring-like on Sunday, so we took another long walk up Mount Royal. The mountain was still a little bit slushy and slippery, but the view from the top couldn't be beat!

Things wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention some more food places! On our way home we stopped at Trip de Bouffe one of our favourite take-out spots for Lebanese food. Try the pita chips, you won't be disappointed!

Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying spring!
